The Rs 25-crore amusement park christened `Maharaja World' that was originally slated to open in April last year, will open to the public on February 26.
This theme park located close to the Neelambuur bye-pass on the Coimbatore-Salem national highway will be the nearest entertainment gateway for the people of Coimbatore whose only source of relaxation all these years was the VOC park in the heart of the city.
The entry fee is Rs 350 for adults and Rs 300 for children.
A proposal to charge a discounted entry fee from school children visiting as a group during weekdays was also on the cards.
For entertainment-starved Coimbatore, relief is round the corner with the Rs 25-crore amusement park `Maharaja World' set to open on Tamil New Year's day (April 14, 2006).
The Erode-based Maharaja group, which is it into a wide range of activities including textiles and edible oil manufacture, apart from running engineering colleges, is confident that the park will be a major hit not only with the people of Coimbatore but also those from neighbouring districts in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. An artificial hill has been created using black soil.
Monday to Sunday (10:30 AM to 6:30 PM) : Adult Rs. 350/-*
Children (90cm - 140 cm) - Rs. 300/-*
* Entry Tickets inclusive of all rides in the Adventure Fort, Aqua Terrain and Kids Kingdom and exclusive of Mini Golf, Multiplex and Celebration Castle.
* Children below 90 cms are admitted free.
* Chirdren below 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Rs.50 for every person for every 30 minutes on a first come first served basis.
